The medieval quarter of Ferrara preserves the memories of a Jewish community among the oldest in Italy. Via Mazzini, where the Synagogue is currently located, was the main street of the old ghetto fullfilled of Jewish shops.
An highly skilled guide will take you to discover this neighborhood: the area of the former Jewish ghetto, the Synagogue with two tombstones on the entrance door, reminiscent of the terrible racial persecution and the former German Temple (Ashkenazi), now used for the most solemn ceremonies. After the visit, we will continue with the National Museum of Italian Judaism and the Shoah, founded to tell over two thousand years of Jewish history in Italy.
